PRY – FUTURE, PAST, PRESENT, INFINITY (2016)

Since 2006 I’ve been making beats and producing as PRY. After 2 albums with Pax & Pry and some songs for other projects it was time for the first solo album as a producer: Future, Past, Present, Infinity.

This album was recorded over a longer period in lots of different studio’s. Some rappers recorded together with me in the studio (Atactic, Reazun, Incksalonius, Jay Colin and PAX), some recorded in their own studio’s in the USA (Everliven Sound, Buggs Tha Rocka, Donte, Moxy Lebowski, CP, Dicap and Asylum 7). There was never a solid idea to make a full album, but after a while everything fell together and it all seemed very natural to see it as a whole.

Other guest musicians on the album are Frank Wienk aka Binkbeats (percussion and vibraphone), David Beukers (saxophone), Prace (scratches) and Maarten Rischen (keys). The artwork for this project was made by Rebecca Solcer, the final mix by Shai Solan and the mastering was done by Statinski Mastering.

Future, Past, Present, Infinity was released in July 2016.

PAX & PRY – A DAY OFF (2009)

After the 1st record A Day At The Office, we worked for 2 years on its follow up A Day Off. In 2009 we released the album at a house party, where we cooked dinner for all the guests (see movie below).

A Day Off was released without a label as 300 hand-numbered vinyl copies.

PAX & PRY SPECIAL PROJECTS (2008)

In 2008, we were asked by DJ Sjeng Stokkink to work on a remix project of his: Dutch Rare Groove. The idea was that there would be a compilation of 2 records: one with old original Dutch Funk Grooves, the other one with remixes (from the same tracks) by contemporary artists. We managed to produce a song for the Dutch Rare Groove Vol II album: Watchu Dreamin’ Of.

Both of the albums were released on CD by the Dutch label Supertracks in 2008.

That same year our friend Arts The Beatdoctor asked us if he could do a remix of the song Sleep, which was on the A Day At The Office album. It turned out to be our best sold Pax & Pry tune.

Sleep ended up on the Progressiosn EP from Arts The Beatdoctor, which was released as a 45 RPM vinyl by the US label Beats Broke in 2008.

PAX & PRY – A DAY AT THE OFFICE (2007)

Pax and I always worked together as a songwriting team. We felt the urge to also do something with produced beats, next to working with the live crew Illicit. Out of that idea grew Pax & Pry. The first album we did was A Day At The Office, and was fully recorded by ourselves at our home studio.

We released it without a label in 2007, as 300 hand-numbered vinyl copies. The release party was the only Pax & Pry live show ever.

207 (2006)

Around 2005/2006, the Utrecht hiphop scene was alive, with the 207 crew (PAX, Reazun, Atactic, Perceptie and DJ Mseize) being part of its core members, we jammed a lot and held sessions in my studio.

For Girly Pants I delivered the beat, Nighty Night was recorded together in a late night session. Girly Pants has never been released so far (apart from the 207 live shows), Nighty Night ended up as a hidden track on their Enjeweet EP.
